Natalie & Luke // Saturday 11th August 2018

Our real life #GlamourBride features the lovely Natalie, who has kindly agreed to tell us all about her big day. Natalie shares with us the reason for choosing her beautiful dress, stunning venue and top tips for other excited brides-to-be.

Q1. When was your big day and what is your husband’s name?

Natalie – Luke and I got married on Saturday 11th August 2018

Q2. Which venue did you choose and why?

Natalie – We married at Ferraris Country House in Longridge, Preston in Lancashire.

Actually, my dad recommended our venue after having dinner in the restaurant. We had never heard of it before then. The minute we looked round the venue we knew it was the one for us.

The amazing outdoor chapel really sold it for us and it was just the right size for our guests. We had full use of all the venue for the whole weekend which made it really intimate. The grounds are stunning and we were lucky enough to have the weather on our side to use the lovely gardens.

Q3 – How long had you been planning your wedding?

Natalie – From the second Luke proposed! We got engaged on holiday in Cyprus in July 2016, and I had booked the venue in August of that year. We had about 2 years to plan the wedding, although we didn’t need to do much till that year really.

Q4 – You chose Glamour Bridal to supply your wedding gown. Would you recommend us to other brides and why?

Natalie – Glamour Bridal was recommended to me by numerous friends and colleagues who had bought their dresses from yourselves. I had been to other bridal shops and tried dresses on but none had really caught my eye.

I visited Glamour about 18 months before my wedding with my Mum & bridesmaids and were instantly made to feel so welcome by all the team. Nothing was too much trouble and even though I hadn’t a clue what I was actually looking for, the team were so helpful and made the task a lot easier! I would definitely recommend Glamour Bridal to every bride-to-be!

Q5 – You wore the ‘Morrigan‘ wedding dress by Sophia Tolli on your big day. What made it ‘The One’ and was it the style of dress you thought you would choose, or was it totally different?

I didn’t actually choose my wedding dress – it was picked out by a lovely bridal stylist at Glamour!

It wasn’t something I would have ever chosen myself, but the minute it was on I was blown away by it. I knew I didn’t want a heavy “princess” type dress and ‘Morrigan‘ fitted perfectly to give me a shape and flatter my figure at the same time.

The long train was absolutely stunning and the lace around the edge just finished it off perfectly.

Q6 – What was your colour scheme?

Our bridesmaid dresses were light blue (our favourite colour) and our venue was a mixture of hessian, ivory and lace.

Q7 – How many bridesmaids did you have?

Natalie – I had 3 bridesmaids – two childhood best friends and my cousin who flew all the way over from America.

Q8 – What is your favourite image from the day and why?

Natalie – Our Photographer Andy Griffiths was amazing and we have so many brilliant photos from the day it really is hard to choose! One of our favourite pictures is of us raising a glass to my Dad’s speech. He was so nervous before hand he did such a good job – he deserved that drink!

Q9 – If you could have your day all over again, would you do anything differently?

I wouldn’t have changed a single thing about our wedding day, it really was perfect. The weather was amazing, everything ran so smoothly and everyone absolutely loved the whole weekend. I wish I could do it all again!

Q10 – Your No 1 top tip for other brides to be?

Natalie – I was extremely nervous on my wedding day and I would tell other brides to try and relax because everything will be fine, and you will have an incredible day no matter what. Everyone will tell you how fast the day goes and they are not wrong – so enjoy every single minute!
